Books Should Not Be a Privilege

51st Ward Books is committed to making our bilingual, anti-racist, anti-bias and culturally-relevant books accessible to the broadest audience possible. Toward this end, we make a regular practice of donating books to community-based, community-led initiatives that aim to increase literacy in BIPOC and historically-marginalized neighborhoods around Chicago. Since our founding in 2020, we have donated over 700 books to our fellow Chicagoans.

We also regularly partner with community non-profits who provide books and language/literacy development services to Chicago children and families.
